The current President Board of Directors, Greater Bowie Chamber of Commerce, Wanda Rogers is part business
owner and part community leader. For over 23 years Wanda and her family have called Bowie their home. Wanda,
a licensed realtor, serves as the office manager for the family business founded by her husband Terry Rogers,
Realty Transaction Services, Inc. Based in the Pointer Ridge Section of Bowie, the independent real estate
brokerage has helped hundreds buy, sell, and lease residential and commercial real estate.
In 1980 Wanda was hired into the U.S. Department of Treasury, Bureau of the Fiscal Service where she began a 36
year federal career which included many firsts. The mission of the agency is to promote the financial integrity and
operational efficiency of the federal government. Wanda spent the last 13 years of her federal career as a member
of the Senior Executive Service where she was notably the first African American Woman to achieve this rank in
the Bureau’s history. Additional firsts for Wanda included the first African American U.S. Chief Disbursing Officer
and the first African American Deputy Commissioner. Highlights of her career include serving as the Treasury
Department’s lead for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 working closely with the Executive
Office of the President and being the recipient of the Presidential Rank Award from President Barack Obama.
Wanda is a member of the Prince George’s County Board of Realtors and the Maryland Association of Realtors.
She is an active member of the First Baptist Church of Highland Park, Landover, MD and a proud 35-year member
of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Wanda is a dedicated community leader. Her interests and activism span both community and political
involvement. In addition to her role of Chamber President, Wanda has served as Vice President and Treasurer on
the Board of Directors of the Arc of Prince George’s County Inc. She served Treasurer for the Highland Park
Community Development Corporation. She was the Chair of the Delta Foundation, Inc. During her tenure she re-
branded and re-vitalized the 501 (c)3 nonprofit. She is a member of the Community Association of South Bowie
representing the family business. Wanda is the “winning” campaign manager for Maryland District 23 State
Delegate Kym Taylor’s 2022 campaign.
Wanda holds a MGA in Human Resource Management from the University of Maryland and a BS in Business
Education from Rider University (NJ). She and her husband are college sweethearts. Together they are the proud
parents of three adult daughters, two sons-in-law and the grandparents of four which includes their grand dog.
